Privacy statement

How we handle the information you share with us. In plain language, with no small print.

Last updated:

In short: we only use your data to help you with your question or assignment. We do not sell it, we do not keep it longer than necessary and our website does not place tracking cookies.

Who are we?

This website belongs to Muilwijk Machinetechniek. We are responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this privacy statement.

Muilwijk Machinetechniek

What data do we process?

We only process the data you provide to us yourself. This is:

  • Via the contact form: your name and email address and, if you fill them in, your phone number, company name, the subject and your message.
  • By email or phone: the details you give us at that time, such as your name, contact details and information about your question or machine.
  • If you are a customer: the data needed for a quote, a rental or purchase agreement, maintenance, an inspection or a repair, and for invoicing, such as address and billing details.

Please do not include sensitive data in your message, such as a copy of your identity document. This is not needed for a question or quote.

What do we use your data for?

  • to answer your question and get in touch with you;
  • to prepare a quote or schedule an appointment;
  • to carry out an assignment, such as rental, sales, maintenance, inspection or repair;
  • to invoice and keep our accounts, partly because the law requires us to.

We do not use your data for newsletters or other marketing without your prior consent.

On what legal basis?

We may only use your data if there is a valid reason for doing so under privacy law (the General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR). For us, these are:

  • Contract: the data is needed to prepare a quote or to agree and carry out an assignment with you.
  • Legitimate interest: we want to be able to answer your question and stay in touch with you about your enquiry.
  • Legal obligation: we are required to keep our records, for example for the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst).

How long do we keep your data?

We do not keep your data longer than necessary. Messages and quote requests that do not lead to an assignment are kept for as long as needed to deal with your question and answer any follow-up questions. After that, we delete them.

Data that ends up in our accounts, such as invoices, is kept for seven years. This is the statutory retention period.

Do we share your data with others?

We never sell your data. We only share it when this is necessary to help you or when the law requires us to. For example, we work with service providers who host our website and email for us. With parties that process data on our behalf, we make agreements about the security and use of that data.

OpenStreetMap map

Our contact page shows an OpenStreetMap map, so you can see where our workshop is located. When you view that page, your browser loads the map directly from the OpenStreetMap servers. In doing so, OpenStreetMap receives technical data, such as your IP address and information about your browser. The OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy (opens in a new window) applies to that use.

If you click a link to another website, such as the Google Maps route planner, the privacy rules of that website apply.

Cookies

Our website does not place any cookies for statistics, advertising or tracking, and we do not track your visit with analytics software. Fonts and scripts are loaded from our own website. Should we use such cookies or services in the future, we will update this statement and, where required, ask for your consent first.

Security

We handle your data with care and take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against loss and against access by people who have no business with it.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the data we hold about you;
  • have incorrect data corrected;
  • have your data deleted, if we are no longer required to keep it;
  • object to the use of your data or have that use restricted;
  • receive your data in a format that allows you to pass it on to another party.

Send your request to arjen@muilwijkmachinetechniek.nl. We will respond within one month. To make sure the request really comes from you, we may ask you for additional information. We do not need a copy of your identity document for this.

Making a complaint

Do you disagree with how we handle your data? Please let us know first, and we will work with you to find a solution. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) (opens in a new window), the Dutch privacy regulator.

Changes

We may update this privacy statement, for example if our website or way of working changes. You will always find the most recent version on this page.
